The mission of Ambassadors of the Word (AOW) is to provide
African American youth with
* Positive self-images and skills aimed at producing effective
      citizens for the community;
* Revitalize the African American youth spirit by applying
      African American precepts;
* Prepare at-risk youth for leadership roles within a multi-cultural
      society;
* Gain a keen awareness of international economic systems;
* Improve health and academic performance; and
* Increase knowledge of self through ethics and spiritual values.

Ambassadors of the Word is also a youth pilgrimage organization
that liberates and enriches  the youth by leading them out of the
physical and mental ghettos that inhabit them into the African
diaspora.  (The team serves as spiritual advisors to this group.
